Innocent Hearts College of Education was established in 2007 by the Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust. The Trust, founded with the vision of raising the socio-economic status of society through education and healthcare, recognized the need for quality teachers to drive educational excellence. The college began its journey in Green Model Town, Jalandhar, with the mission of providing top-notch teacher training.
Innocent Hearts College of Education (IHCE) in Jalandhar, Punjab, is dedicated to shaping future educators through its Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program. Approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi, and affiliated with Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, the college aims to cultivate well-rounded teachers capable of excelling in modern educational environments.
The college offers a two-year B.Ed. program designed for students aspiring to teach at the secondary level. The curriculum is aligned with the directives of the Punjab Government, with admissions conducted through a state-level counseling process, typically involving an entrance test. IHCE provides a range of facilities including a well-equipped library, advanced infrastructure, and a dedicated placement cell to support students in securing teaching positions post-graduation.
From its inception, IHCE has made significant strides in education, achieving remarkable results in university examinations and earning accolades for its students. In its first year, the college not only secured top merit positions at Guru Nanak Dev University but also saw its students achieve a gold medal for the highest academic performance. This tradition of excellence has continued over the years, with numerous students consistently making it to the university's merit lists.
